Brackenhurst Hall

The last place I visited in September as part of Open Heritage Day was Brackenhurst Hall in Southwell, part of Nottingham Trent University that isn’t normally open to the public. I arrived just as they opened so I got to go on the first of the tours that day, which is just as well as there was a fairly constant stream of people arriving throughout my visit.

The Workhouse, Southwell

On what turned out to be an exceptionally sunny day in May I decided to head out to The Workhouse in Southwell. It’s a National Trust property and although it’s a bit of a trek to get to on public transport, it proved to be well worth a visit.

Southwell Minster

Despite living fairly close by (well, roughly a 40 minute bus journey away) I’d never been to Southwell Minster before and decided to rectify that in January. Thankfully I had chosen a day that was cold but otherwise bright, and before the chance of snow was something to worry about.
