About

A travel photography blog following my adventures in England and beyond. All photographs were taken by and are copyright to me, Louise Jayne Munton, unless otherwise stated.

As of September 2022 I used up my allocated space for photographs and as I’m currently not in position to buy more space I’ve been removing photos from the earliest posts on the blog. The posts will remain and the accompanying photos can also be found, along with all my others that have yet to be featured in posts here, at my flickr.

Thanks, Louise Jayne. Funnily enough, about an hour after I sent that email to you, I found my two slides from 1985. I had put them in my scanner about six months, and I forgot about them all this time. But thanks, anyway, for your speedy reply and all the best!

Hi Sam, thank you, I’m glad you liked the post. I don’t mind people sharing my posts so that’s fine. I’m actually traveling right now – in Norway – so I’ll have a proper look at your site when I get back to the UK but it sounds like a good community.

Dear Louise Jayne, what lovely photos from your 2019 trip to London (https://louisejaynemunton.com/tag/natural-history-museum/)! I was especially pleased to see your photo 110 of the columns in front of the Natural History Museum. These are the leaf scars of the Carboniferous lycopsid Lepidodendron. I had taken photos of these columns in 1985, but can’t find them any more. I am a paleobotanist at the University of Bonn and would like to ask if I can use this one photo of yours in a book that I am writing. Of course, I would credit you and your website as the source of the photo. Would this be possible? Thanks, Carole (cgee@uni-bonn.de)

Hi Carole, I’m glad you liked the photos. Unfortunately the NHM only permits photography for personal use so I don’t believe I can give permission for my photo to be used in your book. You’re probably best off contacting the museum directly.
