Nottingham Castle

Nottingham Castle is a staple of Nottingham’s cityscape and somewhere I’ve visited a lot, but not specifically written about. The name Castle is perhaps a bit of a misnomer, and tourists can be taken aback that it doesn’t fit the stereotypical appearance of a castle. In fact the current incarnation is the 17th century ducal mansion that was built on the site of the Medieval Castle.

Wollaton Hall and Deer Park: The Hall

Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum

Although I was aware of the City Art Gallery and Museum’s location, I hadn’t intended to visit this time around – I already had places I was more eager to explore. However, when I found myself nearby with an hour before it closed I decided to pop in, even if it meant only being able to  see a small portion of the museum. What I hadn’t realised was just how small the place is, and I actually managed to see everything I could and have time to spare.

The Museum of Royal Worcester

The Museum of Royal Worcester is minutes away from Worcester Cathedral and is on the site of the now closed factory which was established in 1751.

The Galleries of Justice Museum, Nottingham

The Galleries of Justice Museum is in what was once Nottinghamshire’s old Courthouse and County Goal and was opened as a museum in 1995. It’s an impressive building from outside and is surprisingly deceptive in terms of just how large it is and how far down it goes.
