Edinburgh Zoo

I’d been to Edinburgh Zoo on my previous visit to the city and had decided to revisit partly because it really is an excellent zoo but also because it was a chance to say goodbye to Yang Guang and Tian Tian the giant pandas who returned to China in December 2023. I’d been lucky enough to see one of them on my previous visit and my luck remained as I was able to take some photos this time round – though with some difficulty and using a great deal of dexterity as this was by far the busiest area of the entire zoo.

Titanosaur Exhibition at the Natural History Museum, London

On a recent trip to London I made the spontaneous decision to head out to see the Titanosaur exhibition at the NHM as I had a couple of hours to kill after checking into my hotel. The exhibit had been on my general to do list in London since it was first announced but I hadn’t been sure I’d be able to make it until I realised that the museum closed later than I thought it did, at 5.50pm, so I would be able to fit it in afterall.

Dinosaurs of China Exhibition at Wollaton Hall, Nottingham

Please note photos have been removed due to lack of hosting space.

On Monday we went to visit the Dinosaurs of China Exhibition at Wollaton Hall which I’ve been very excited to see since it was first announced. Running until the end of October it is a display of dinosaur fossils and skeletons that have never been shown outside of Asia before, and includes the tallest dinosaur skeleton ever displayed in the UK, the magnificent Mamenchisaurus which you can see below.

Longleat Safari Park Part 3: Dinosaurs

Please note photos have been removed due to lack of hosting space.

During my visit to Longleat Safari Park as well as the normal animal species you would expect to find, there was also a display of animatronic dinosaurs as part of the Park’s Dinosaurs Alive exhibition. We were a week too early to actually get to see the exhibition but I thought the dinosaurs were excellent and deserving of a post of their own.
