The Museum of Scottish Railways at Bo’ness Station is Scotland’s largest railway museum. It opened in 1995 and displays items of Scotland’s railway heritage such as trains, coaches, signals and my personal favourite, old railway posters.
My Dad has dragged me to many a train museum over the years and I’m always more interested in the social history of the railways, rather than the trains themselves. I do enjoy looking at old railway posters though and the museum had lots of interesting display boards with pictures of the old style designs on them – a few of my favourites are below.
My Dad really enjoyed it and it’s clearly a must for any train enthusiast.
