Bodafon Farm Park, Llandudno

I knew when researching ideas for this trip that I wanted to visit some places I hadn’t been to before and that I wanted to visit somewhere relating to animals. On our previous trip we went to the Welsh Mountain Zoo which is excellent but basically impossible to get to by public transport. But my researches lead me to Bodafon Farm Park which I hadn’t come across any mention of on our last visit to Llandudno.

Stonebridge City Farm, Nottingham

Stonebridge City Farm has been a lovely place to visit during all sorts of iterations of lockdown in England. They’ve lost a lot of money having to keep opening and then closing again so if you could donate a little something here that would be great. My last visit pre-Christmas was to see their new calf – Orion – as well as some of the other photogenic residents.

Lambs at Calke Abbey

Last month we headed to Calke Abbey in Derbyshire as the farm there was inviting people to come and see the newborn lambs from Calke’s rare breed of Portland sheep. We had been planning on going the previous weekend but had to postpone because of the snow, luckily this time it was dry and fairly warm and it was finally starting to look like spring. There were plenty of lambs and sheep outside and in the barn where we arrived just seconds after one of the lambs was born.

Iceland Part Thirteen: Reykjavik Family Park and Zoo

Since my final full day was so nice that I actually had to use the sunglasses I’d thankfully thought to pack, I decided to walk out to Laugardalur Valley and visit the zoo. It’s open all year round but I suspect that it’s a bit livelier in the summer than when I went.
