The Lighthouse is Scotland’s National Centre for Design and Architecture. Originally it was the offices of the Glasgow Herald newspaper, designed by the architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh as his first public commission and completed in 1895.

Royal Pump Rooms – Leamington Spa Art Gallery and Museum
Since the 1780s Leamington Spa was one of the places where the wealthy would “take the waters” for their health. In 1814 the Royal Pump Rooms and Baths was officially opened becoming the largest and most prestigious of all the spas in Leamington.

Museum of Liverpool
I wasn’t really sure what to expect at the Museum of Liverpool but actually it proved to be my favourite of Liverpool’s museums. Opened in 2011 it is apparently the largest newly built national museum in the UK for more than 100 years, and I admit the building’s design was a major reason why I decided to go inside.
