After I finished up at Shrewsbury Abbey I spotted a sign across the road for Shropshire Wildlife Trust and decided to take a look. The garden is free to enter and volunteers each have their own part of the garden they look after – no one paid the slightest bit of attention to me as I wandered around.

There was a fair bit to see considering its relatively small size from fruit trees, vegetables and flower beds.

There was also a well stocked shop where I bought a card, as well as toilets and a small cafe.

The garden was originally part of Shrewsbury Abbey and the layout and choice of plants etc reflects the way the monks would have designed the garden.

It’s a lovely green space to relax in and surprisingly quiet considering its proximity to a busy road.
A lovely spot, must be a lovely place to spend time for the volunteers.
