Edinburgh Zoo

I’d been to Edinburgh Zoo on my previous visit to the city and had decided to revisit partly because it really is an excellent zoo but also because it was a chance to say goodbye to Yang Guang and Tian Tian the giant pandas who returned to China in December 2023. I’d been lucky enough to see one of them on my previous visit and my luck remained as I was able to take some photos this time round – though with some difficulty and using a great deal of dexterity as this was by far the busiest area of the entire zoo.

Grand Safari Trail at the Grand Arcade Shopping Centre, Cambridge

Recently I was in Cambridge for a couple of days to visit some museum exhibitions but I didn’t have any plans for after my arrival late in the afternoon of my first day in the city. A chance mention of this trail on social media lead me to head out to the Grand Arcade Shopping Centre in the middle of Cambridge to see it for myself. Birmingham Sea Life Centre

A few weeks ago I decided to head to Birmingham and visit the Sea Life Centre. I hadn’t been there for a good ten years or so and it’s still a nice place to visit, but very expensive even when booking online in advance. Edinburgh Zoo

Please note photos have been removed due to lack of hosting space.

One of the things we definitely wanted to do on a recent trip to Scotland was visit Edinburgh Zoo. Naturally we were hoping to be able to see the pandas – a timed ticket for their enclosure is a must and is included in the main ticket price which is cheaper if booked in advance.  Thankfully we were rewarded in our planning by arriving just in time to see the male panda enjoying some bamboo before lying down for a sleep in the sunshine.
