Charles Darwin’s House in Cambridge

This rather unprepossessing house at 22 Fitzwilliam Street is where Charles Darwin lived from 16th December to March 1837, after he returned from his voyage on the Beagle. It was during this time that he started writing up his notes and organising his specimens.

    Take away the bikes and it’s not hard to imagine the old place back in the day. I wonder who lives there now and if they ever give previous occupiers a thought?

      I think it might be student accommodation – certainly someone left just before I took the photo that looked like a student.
