The Great Orme via West Shore Beach, Llandudno

After visiting the West Shore Beach and walking all the way to Deganwy and back I then ventured partly up the Great Orme. I didn’t venture very far; I’d done a considerable amount of walking by that point but as it was the last day of my holiday I pushed on for a bit to see the views from this side of the Orme.

One of the features that was listed in Google maps that I wanted to have a look at, if only to say that I had done so, were these two stones. Not much to look at, I’d agree, but supposedly (and I use the word advisedly) these stones are said to represent the Walrus and the Carpenter from Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking Glass. I’ll let you be the judge.

Beautiful views as ever and I only encountered a couple of fellow walkers the whole time I was traversing around the Orme.

One encounter I did have however was with one of Llandudno’s lovely goats. It actually stood in my way for a few minutes so I was careful to hang back and eventually they strolled off the side of the Orme, allowing me to get this photo.

And so ends my posts about Conwy and Llandudno. Next up, Cambridge!
